Brunch Table Setting Ideas for Mother's Day
Compliments of HGTV
Happy Mother's Day Friends,
Tea and Girl Talk, if the weather cooperates, what could be more beautiful than a garden tea party with Mom? Take comfy chairs to the heart of the garden and catch up while sipping tea, surrounded by all the colors of Mother Nature. Photo by HGTV fan countrygrl125.
Tea and Cookies
HGTV fan artquest enjoys a quiet moment with freshly baked cookies and a warm cuppa. For a healthy treat, she recommends adding 1/2 cup flax seed and a 1/4 cup wheat germ to any cookie recipe.
Pretty in Pink
HGTV fan MoonlightandMagnolias combined various patterns of pink floral china to create a harmonious whole. Tall candlesticks and an ivy topiary create a simple centerpiece.
Al Fresco Brunch
HGTV fan countrygrl125 knows that food always tastes better when enjoyed outside. Keep the table simple with a centerpiece of fresh flowers clipped from the garden and serve Mom's favorite foods to start her big day off on the right foot.
Charming Setting
A shady patio is a lovely backdrop for a light lunch in honor of Mom. Photo by HGTV fan single mom on a budget.
Simple, Chic, Chocolate
HGTV fan misssuzie3 created a chic Mother's Day table that demonstrates how layering neutral tones, in this case gold and chocolate, creates a feminine and sophisticated table setting for brunch.
Hopefully, the inspiration and ideas help you set a beautiful table to celebrate Mom.
Bon Appétit...

Treat Mom to an Elegant Mother's Day Brunch
Compliments of Manvi Drona-Hidalgo
Happy Mother's Day Friends,
Set the Foundation by dressing up the table, start with a protective padded liner to protect the table from spills and scratches. A printed linen fabric serves as the tablecloth. A color palette of apricot and sea glass is perfect for an afternoon brunch.
Think About the Flow. Draw a party flow plan and create conversation spots. Think about how and where you want guests to congregate at the party. A self-serve beverage or dessert table are great centers of attention and will keep guests out of the kitchen. Simple round and square foldout tables covered with fabric work best.
Designer Invites Without the Cost
Mail out paper invitations and allow guests to RSVP online. Leaving the design simple makes the invite look elegant and allows for a thoughtful handwritten message that gets guests excited for your party. For a glamorous look, line plain envelopes with gold dust wrapping paper. Cut card stock to envelope size, use a craft punch to create spring-inspired cutouts and attach to the cards with glue to tie in with the decor.
Combine New With Old
Mix high and low by pairing mismatched thrifted dinner and salad plates with quality stemware. The modern shapes of the stemware alongside vintage china and whimsical teacups create one-of-a-kind place settings.
Menu Cards
One detail always appreciated by guests is menu cards. Print them on card stock left over from the invitations and place in folded napkins or on plates. If you are the chef for the party, print recipes on the back of the invitations for guests to take home as favors.
Place Cards
Print your own place cards with card stock and a pretty font. For each mother attending, be sure to add "Happy Mother's Day" to the place card.
Simple Decorations
Use the spring-inspired craft punch to make additional cutouts for recipe cards, cake toppers, garlands, favor tags, drinks stirrers and more.
For the Road
To complete the setting for an indulgent afternoon, create a favors table. Cover a wrought-iron garden table with leftover fabric and stock with an assortment of favors such as bath bombs, travel-sized scented candles, cupcakes, handmade letterpress calling cards and recipe cards in vintage trays.
Celebrate motherhood with a fun and delicious springtime brunch for Mother's Day.
Bon Appétit...

Tall Shelf
Courtesy of Brian Patrick Flynn
By: Apartment 34 lifestyle blogger and publicist Erin Hiemstra
Hi Friends,
To take advantage of dead space opt for an 8-foot-tall bookshelf. It houses important belongings, including diplomas and family keepsakes. "Vertical space is something really important to take advantage of. You'd be surprised how storing things upwards frees up space for other things. A combination of horizontal and vertical storage is key in maximizing square footage," Erin notes.

Host a Mother's Day Tea Party
Compliments of HGTV
Hi Friends,
Break out the good china, set the table and host an unforgettable afternoon tea party to celebrate all the deserving moms and daughters in your life. Gather the Girls this year and celebrate Mother's Day by inviting your girlfriends and their daughters to don frilly frocks and sip steaming cups of tea at a sumptuous afternoon tea party. A lavish spread of decadent sweets and springtime decor sets a festive tone.
Butterfly Tea Sandwiches
Delight guests of all ages with tiny tea sandwiches shaped like fluttering butterflies. Using a butterfly cookie cutter, cut shapes from thin white bread. Toast under the broiler for one minute on each side, then cut half of the butterflies down the center to make "wings." Place a teaspoon of paté, herbed goat cheese or salmon spread in the middle of the whole butterflies, then stick two wings into the spread at a 45-degree angle. Add thin slices of cucumber or radish to the sandwiches for a splash of color.
Baby Cakes
Adding a few store-bought treats to the menu helps lighten the load on the hostess. Miniature cupcakes topped with a single red raspberry are a perfect choice and appear very dressed up when presented on pretty glass cake stands of varying heights and sizes.
A Proper Spot of Tea
Every good hostess should learn the basics of brewing a proper cup of tea. Bring cold water to a boil then remove from heat and let sit for a few minutes. In a teapot, toss in a teaspoon of tea leaves for each cup you are making and fill pot with boiled water. Let steep for three minutes for green teas and four minutes for full-leaf black tea. Pour the tea into cups, using a strainer to catch leaves.
Make this year memorable for the Mother's and Daughter's in your life; it will be appreciated...

Celebrate Earth Day!
Courtesy of National Geographic
Hi Friends,
In 1970 smog choked major U.S. cities and toxic waste flooded rivers. That same year nearly 20 million Americans participated in events on April 22, spearheaded by Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson, to draw attention to the environmental issues plaguing the planet and human health. Named Earth Day, April 22 has remained a time to celebrate restoration and stand up for the planet. Today we wanted to share with our friends...
It's Earth Day and we thank each and every person for doing your part.
