Hi Friends,
Welcome to Week 9 of our on-going Romance the Bedroom Series and a special thank you to Caren Baginski and Constance Ramos. Style comes into this bedroom with two unexpected focal points — a wall-length headboard and a lighted footboard.
Step outside the traditional bedroom box and add style with unexpected focal points. Get creative with a wall-length headboard for storage and a lighted footboard for seduction in the space.
With busy schedules and the daily chores, life should definitely be sweet. However, when you try to turn your bedroom into a sophisticated pink, it might prove to be difficult. Green compliments pink, but be careful not to pick too dull of a shade. Choose a color palette that is inspiring and not dated.
Green and pink might not work for everyone, so select your favorite color; having problems, visit your local home improvement center for great mix and match color ideas. The sales associates are always willing to help and can even custom mix a color just for you. Experiment and don't be afraid of color. It's only paint and not very expensive to change with only a few hours work.
Check back for more decorating ideas in Week 10 and have fun selecting the perfect colors for your bedroom this weekend.

Romance the Bedroom Series: Week 8
Hi Friends,
Welcome back and thank you for joining us for another week of stylish romantic bedrooms and a special thanks to Caren Baginski and Candice Olson. If this is your first visit, please take a few minutes to browse through our previous weeks for some great ideas for your bedroom.
Vacation in your bedroom. Who says you can't have a chalet in your bedroom? If you're planning a bedroom remodel, keep your spouse's style in mind even if he or she isn't passionate about design. Our designer did just that when she created this his-and-hers suite that turned out "chalet chic." She was able to blend the two styles into one cohesive design and with our tips you can accomplish similar results.
To create an equilibrium, decide the room's theme, here they selected "chalet chic." The choice of a relaxing, gender-neutral color scheme featuring rich cream, pear green and bark brown was the ticket. Paint the space in a light cream, and if you already have hard wood floors, leave them intact. If not, check our previous blog on instructions to lay them yourself, a real cost-saver. Create two major zones in the room: a comfy sleeping space and a restful sitting area.
In your bedroom, if the budget allows, put in a luxurious, king-sized bed with flea market wooden bedside tables. It's perfectly acceptable to mix rustic and chic by installing a stunning brown leather headboard and then adding creamy paisley wallpaper behind it. Add lavish bedding: luscious linens, a variety of pillows and even a whimsical leopard print throw. On the windows, put up woven bamboo and jute blinds, and fronted them with drapes in a beautiful cream, green and brown striped fabric.
Across from the bed, although not visible here, put in a large storage unit in a classic shaker style, paint it white to complement the room. The unit should provide enough storage space for all of your clothes – and room enough for a concealed TV, a must-have for most. Install a mirrored cabinet for all of the accessories ladies need to stay beautiful.
In the sitting area, create a gorgeous feature wall. In this room they simply updated the room's existing exposed brick with a cut stone veneer treatment and added a very cool, free-standing gas fireplace. If you don't have an existing feature wall; create one. Check out some of our earlier blogs for some really good ideas. Also put in a brown leather club chair, an ottoman and a big area rug.
Lastly, since more people are working from home with no dedicated space for a home office, create a little office space near the sitting area, consisting of a wooden desk and a chair, simple, but effective.
To make the room lighter and brighter, get rid of the existing ceiling fixtures and replaced them with a track lighting system and beautiful lamps on the bedside tables.
After few last minute touches and personal additions, your master bedroom retreat will be complete. By creating the perfect balance between the masculine and feminine, your space will bring out the best of you and your spouse's differing styles and mix yin and yang together in perfect harmony.
Check back for more decorating ideas in our Week 8 blog and remember, your space should reflect you and yours.
Enjoy!

Romance the Bedroom Series: Week 6
Hi Friends,
Welcome to Week 6 of our Romance the Bedroom Series. We appreciate your continued support and send a special thank you to Caren Baginski and Candice Olson. If your boudoir could use a boost, here is inspiration to create your own romantic retreat — whether you dream of a lavish suite or prefer glamor on a budget layering a contemporary, monochromatic bedroom will give you a space that is inviting and comfortable.
Contemporary, monochromatic bedrooms look more flattering when layered. Create texture with a gray/pewter damask duvet and shams, metallic fabrics for the bedskirt and pillows, and luxurious silk for the window treatment. How do you get this look on a budget; easy? Visit your local linen outlet or with the economy, hit a sale at your favorite department store and don't be afraid to approach the clearance section; you might be surprised at the economical finds.
With busy careers you will undoubtedly find yourself in desperate need of some quiet time and want a retreat from the hustle and bustle of what has become our everyday lives. Unwind and relax, if only for a few precious moments, in a space that is not only sophisticated but cozy.
If you have a big, bland uninspiring master bedroom or just a small cozy space, turn the space into a luxurious adult area in which you can rest, relax and even put your feet up and read that favorite book. It's all up to you!
Check back for Week 7 of our Romance the Bedroom Series for more decorating ideas and have fun shopping this weekend...
